Step 1: Laying the foundation

A house is only as strong as its foundation.

site preparation

We survey the lot. Where does the property begin and end?

And first things first: time to gather the permits.

This is the time to plan. Minutes of planning can save you thousands of dollars.

excavation

Our trusted excavator has been in the business for decades.

One of the tricks is to save the topsoil from mixing with the sand or clay. We save our topsoil on the side of the lot. When the projects done, all we have to do is spread the clean topsoil over the yard.

One step of forethought ensures that your lawn can thrive with healthy black soil.

pouring the walls

Here’s another place where getting the right contractor is important.

If the foundation is out of level, the rest of the house will be.

We work with experienced professionals to make sure your foundation is done right.

Step 2: Building the structure and Shell

Foundations are important, but structures are what you live in.

framing

Soon after the foundation is poured, framing begins.

The foreman’s job is to read the blueprints and help crew members understand what comes next.

In this step, accuracy matters a ton. Drywalling, painting and the rest of the finish work is easy when the framing is done well.

exteriors

The house wrap, siding, and roofing is what keeps the inside warm and dry.

And the windows are important too because everyone wants to see the sunlight. We trust VDK Windows to provide us with the windows we need for our custom homes.

A great exterior job prepares your guests for beautiful interior work.

rough-ins

“Rough-ins” refer to setting up the infrastructure for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.

Our expert contractors bring special tools, supplies, and years of experience to make your house structurally sound.

Step 3: finishing steps

We bring our houses across the finish line.

drywall and trim

Studs and beams and trusses hold the house together. But drywall makes the inside of a house clean and hospitable.

First our experts hang the drywall. Then they tape the seams.

After the drywall has been laid, there’s a lot more to do. Our finish carpenters cut baseboard, craft custom shelves for closets, and add a few creative touches.

paint

We know what a good paint job looks like. No drips. No blips.

Paint protects and paint defines each room.

It’s also super easy to chose the wrong color for a room. Our reps are ready to help and serve.

cleaning

We cleanup while we’re building, but we want it to be perfect when you’re ready to move-in.

We remove our tools and supplies, wash floors, and make sure everything’s ready for you.
